Verzenay is where Pinot Noir goes to flex, the Grand Cru village that feeds Cristal, among others. Lafalise-Froissart has worked these slopes since 1885, now in the hands of sixth-generation Paul Froissart, who farms the family's five hectares organically and biodynamically across forty scattered plots. This cuvee is 100% Pinot Noir, barrel-aged, built on a slug of reserve wine, extra brut and bone dry on the finish. Brioche, kirsch, a curl of smoke, grapefruit cutting through the richness. Tiny producer, serious juice.
