Why we love this Wine
Winemaker Andrew Scott likes to do things a little differently. Experimenting with ancient winemaking techniques, like using colossal terra cotta amphorae (known as qvevri in Georgia). It's why we reach for La Petite Mort’s unexpected wines. Muscat and Gewürztraminer are buried in the qvevri at his Ballandean winery and left to sit on skins for 151 days. Let it be known, this skin contact oomph is palpable. Lychee, rose and white blossom coming from these two Alsatian varieties (that are known for their florals), alongside grilled pineapple and crunchy apple. We can’t get enough of this punchy wine, sitting hazy in the glass.
