Grapes have personalities, apparently — some blokey, some not. Riesling, this producer reckons, is unmistakably a girl: big and fine at the same time, no contradiction required.
Ben Jeanneret's self-taught and allergic to trend-chasing. The rule here is simple: make what you'd actually want to drink.
The wine backs up the cheek. Mandarin, nectarine, apple, a squeeze of lime, something tropical loitering at the edges. Elegant and pure through the middle, then more fruit weight and texture than a Riesling this lithe has any right to carry.
Fine bones. Serious flesh.
