Why we love this Wine
Everyone knows Sancerre for the Sauvignon Blanc — this is the other side of the coin. A rare red made entirely from Pinot Noir by the Roger family, who've been vignerons around the village of Bué since the seventeenth century and keep refining their farming rather than resting on the history. No drama, just steady, sustainable work in the vines. Expect ripe plums, cherry jam, liquorice root and a whisper of baking spice, with fine, savoury tannins doing the heavy lifting. Proof red Sancerre deserves more airtime. Slinky little showstopper.
