Vareij Rosso is a biodynamic blend of Brachetto and Barbera that pours light ruby with a violet wink. The nose is all about roses, lychee and wild strawberry — crafted in the non-interventionist style that Annette Hilberg and Michele Pasquero nail, two of Alba winemaking's most hands-off heroes. Dry on the palate, with a smooth, lively flow, gentle grip and a faint, appetising bitterness. Aromatic, offbeat, and certainly seductive, from the hamlet of Priocca.
