Why we love this Wine
Gerovassiliou didn't invent Greek wine — he just refused to let it fall into obscurity, and that's basically Malagousia's renaissance story. Vangelis Gerovassiliou rescued it from near-extinction in the 1980's, and this is still the benchmark - from Epanomi's limestone, southeast of Thessaloniki. Some ferments in stainless, some sees French oak, then time on lees for texture. Expect ripe pear, white peach and citrus, with rose petal and freesia drifting in behind — some Viognier-esque swagger and a saline snap. Exotic, floral, properly alive. A grape that earned its second chance.
