Why we love this Wine
Catherine Champalou is twelfth generation Vouvray on her side, Didier sixth generation out of Poitou on his — they founded the domaine together in 1983, and daughter Céline now works the cellar alongside them. The vines sit on the tuffeau limestone that makes this corner of the Loire Chenin's spiritual home, farmed under HVE certification. Harvest comes in early morning, straight to press, cool ferment in stainless. Green apple, quince, wet stone, a savoury edge of lanolin. Dry, taut, chalky through the finish. Flavours bigger than the family tree.
