Cannubi doesn't need Barolo's name to sell it — the vineyard was called out on a label in 1752, a hundred years before the word "Barolo" existed on a bottle. Steep, sandy, silt-heavy ground, facing east-southeast at 250 metres — the kind of site people fight over. Brezza own one and a quarter hectares of Cannubi, perhaps the most famous of all Barolo's 'cru' vineyard sites, farmed the family's way since 1885 — organic grape growing, long macerations, and aging in large barrels, no new oak muscling in on the site. Hand-picked in October, destemmed and crushed before a seven-day fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks, then years resting in old Slavonian botti. Sun-warmed strawberry, baked cherry, dried herbs, earth underneath — structured, seamless, built to outlast you. Barolo's oldest name, still holding its ground.
