Why are winemakers endlessly fascinated by Chardonnay? No doubt the same reasons drinkers are; the style has as many interesting iterations as it has adoring devotees. This gorgeous version from the Adelaide Hills' Basket Range is cool climate perfection; fresh and tight, with white stone fruit and lashings of lemon for your nose and palate. The Cranberries-level linger and length, and a hint of oak. Very noice.
