Why we love this Wine
Ever since Beatriz Herranz returned to La Seca and planted her old family land with five hectares of Verdejo, at Barco del Corneta the vision seems to have been an entirely artisan approach. Friends were enlisted to cultivate the first vintage, and Félix Crespo jumped into the project with both feet. Cultivated organically at 750-850m above sea level, hand harvested and fermented using wild natural yeast, this is Verdejo at its most singular. Gently clarified, lightly filtered. Young and fresh and borrowing complexity from a little time fermenting in barrel. White flowers and a little citrus pith bitterness, plus preserved lemon tang. A joyous wine.
