For Apostle 2018, winemaker Sam Berketa has cranked the Grenache and Carignan in a nod to the ever-changing McLaren Vale landscape. Read: Planting more smashable varietals, and making less wines that will smash You. Rustic and round, it’s still dark fruit aplenty, but softened with a fragrant, red fruit-driven supporting cast. Spiritually and fundamentally McLaren Vale.
