'A Realeza'. The Royalty—51% Tinta Toriz, 49% Touriga Nacional, both Portuguese varietals. At risk of triteness, this is fit for the king's table, ie. if said king (or his regal wife) is partial to deep, luscious complexity in a red. ie. black cherries, wafts of baking spice and menthol. Humming energy and finest silty tannin on the mid palate. The strong Portuguese blending tradition is alive and well in South Australia. It's a glass that begs for a little food on side, be it snacky or the heartiest of lunches. Plush, balanced and satiating.
