Produttori del Barbaresco
Some of Piedmont's greatest Nebbiolo doesn't come from a lone genius on a hilltop—it comes from fifty growers pooling their finest fruit. Produttori del Barbaresco only bottles its single-vineyard Riservas in the years that truly earn it. 2021 earned it. We've landed the Classico plus three legendary crus—Pora, Rabajà and Montestefano. A handful of each, then that's it.
pooling the finest fruit
Rewind to 1958: a local priest, Don Fiorino Marengo, rallied nineteen Barbaresco farmers into a cooperative—reviving a dream first chased by Domizio Cavazza, the man they call the father of Barbaresco, decades before. Today around fifty families still tend their own rows, then hand the fruit over. Long ferments, years in big old oak. As managing director Aldo Vacca likes to put it, Gaja made the world talk about Barbaresco; the Produttori made the world drink it.
