A 14th generation Jura vigneron Jean-François Ganevat. Lovably nicknamed Fanfan, Jean-François and wife Anne farm a low-yielding, organic and biodynamic 8.5ha in the Rotalier commune.

The family's worked this patch of Rotalier since around 1650, back when the vines shared the land with dairy cows and Comté cheese. Jean-François—Fanfan to everyone—cut his teeth in Chassagne-Montrachet before taking the reins in 1998, farming 8.5 low-yielding hectares organically and biodynamically alongside Anne. He's a fierce champion of the Jura's near-forgotten native grapes, working parcel by parcel and doing as little as possible in the cellar. Indigenous yeasts, long ageing in old barrels. Each bottle, pure and precise.
