For an undeniable A+, this devilish disruptor from Quinta do Noval sounds very lazy. Late bottled and unfiltered following a scorching 2016 vintage, an extended five-year nap (typical) in Portuguese oak and Chesnut casks helped to develop exquisite fine tannin and velvety weight. A wonder of spiced blackcurrant and blackberry, cacao and eucalypt, it’s gloriously potent.
