We love this wine because…

There are some super interesting skin contact white wines coming out of NZ in recent years and this funky little monkey from Waipara’s Muddy Water pushes all our buttons for its chalky, waxy, collision of fruit, floral and texture. A blend of Riesling, Gewurtztraminer, Gruner Veltliner and St Laurent, each fermented separately in amphoras and open top fermenters on skins for one month before aging in old barrels. Slinky, textural and wild it’s a riot of crisp, copper-hued, dried mandarin, curry leaf, dried flower, bergamoty goodness.
