Why we love this Wine
We are digging the fact that Mac Forbes has added the ‘village’ designation to his range of wines, highlighting the vineyards and honing in on the terroir aspects of his Yarra Valley stomping ground. Here, the Gladysdale Chardonnay vineyard sits at the southern end of the Yarra below Yarra Junction in the valley running north-south down to Gippsland. It’s linear & precise, awash with pure, detailed stone & citrus fruits, soft-spice, almond paste and notes of lemongrass and beautifully judged oak nuance in the background. A wine of purity, place and drive.
