We love this wine because…
We remember attending a tasting of the first flush of grower Champage to arrive in Australia many moons ago. They were pitted against the usual Grand Marques and they blew our mind. Egly-Ouriet was front and centre at that tasting and they are superb. Les Prémices, from a 3.5 ha parcel in the village of Trigny, directly adjacent to the village of Merfy...a fine energetic bead with aromas on white flowers, peach, redcurrant and marzipan with a citrussy edge, light toasty proving bread notes and a vivid, long minerally finish. So good.
