From the DOC of Barbera d’Alba. There are a couple of things we like about the Northern Italian city of Alba. A/ There is a constant wiff of chocolate and hazelnuts in the air from the Nutella factory & B/ Barbera - that vivid, lifted and zippy little Piemonte beauty that is juicy, black-fruited, herbal and spicy all at once with ample structure and just the right amount rustic Italian suave-stylee. A picture-book bistro wine.
